Iraq has written their name in the history books by coming up with all 3 points against competition favourites, the Socceroos. The Aussies started the match with an attacking formation and attitude as promised, but Iraq was the first on the scoreboard. Although captain Mark Viduka was able to level the scores shortly after half time, Iraq proved they were too good, coming up with a 3-1 win against an unsettled Australian defence. To make matters worse, Lucas Neill received a red card in the 4th minute of injury time.
